A sample of 52 individuals who purchased mitochondrial DNA testing to determine their female lineage was assembled after the fact from the customer files of DNA Consultants. All claim matrilineal descent from a Native American woman, usually named as Cherokee. The main criterion for inclusion in the study is that test subjects must have obtained results not placing them in the standard Native American haplogroups A, B, C or D.

Dennis Crenshaw, in collaboration with Pete Navarro, has just released the title "The Secrets of Dellshcau: The Sonora Aero Club & the Airships of the 1800's". A Story of Two Men's Obsessions: C.A.A. Dellschau - Spent the last 20 years of his life using every waking moment creating thousands of drawings of strange looking flying machines he called Aeros. Hidden within those drawings were coded messages documenting the story of a secret life. A story he had pledged not to reveal under the threat of death. A story of knowledge, inventions and power sources beyond his time . . . beyond our time. A story that could rewrite history. P.G. "Pete" Navarro - An extremely talented artist in his own right, spent 27 years unraveling Dellschau's secrets. What he discovered was an amazing story of events - - Events that, according to Dellschau, took place during the Gold Rush years of the mid- 1800s in Northern California. A story of flying machines, secret societies, anti-gravity fuel and possibly even .. . murder! According to Pete, Dellschau even invented his own code and embedded cryptic information in the drawings. The voyageurs carried a lot of furs along the waterways of the north. At least at one point, they carried real treasure…and lost it. The rumor of treasure came down to the present, sparking a search that attracted both treasure hunters and historians alike. The key lay in runestones left by Vikings centuries before the voyageurs paddled their canoes on the wilderness lakes and rivers.
