The 13th Amendment of the Constitution was ratified on this day in 1865. This amendment outlawed slavery in the United States of America. For the first time in American history, on January 20th, the Commander-in-Chief will be a black man.

I was listening to the local talk radio show the other morning and the subject was Plaxico Buress. He is the New York Giant receiver who caught the winning touchdown pass in last year's Superbowl. Last week, he shot himself in the leg at a night club with his own gun. Plaxico is in violation of several (unconstitutional) laws in New York city pertaining to the incident. Mayor Bloomberg promises to prosecute to the fullest extent.

Anyway, it didn't take long for several black listeners to call in and play the 'race' card. They cried poor mouth for Plaxico. One man said if it was Payton Manning, he would be let go. I believe he also threw in as proof of his argument, the conviction of Michael Vick, the black quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons who is doing time for dog fighting.

Nevermind that there has been no hearing or conviction yet. As far as these two black callers were concerned, it was a done deal. Plaxico is going down because of the color of his skin.

Then another black man called. I thought, 'Here we go. They are really going to pile on today.'

But this black man was livid. He went on to explain quite eloquently how sick and tired he is of hearing blacks in America continue to play the race card. He went on to say that he is not naive, there will always be racism among individuals among all races among the whole world, but white america is not keeping the black man down.

This black patriot said that it was time for black americans to embrace their country and take ownership. It is time to stop pretending to be a forced under-class.

He finished by saying that the election of Barack Obama as president of the United States officially deputizes and gives the right to all whites and blacks in America to no longer tolerate the black race baiters in this country. He encouraged white and black americans, both, to publicly tar and feather these con men like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton and Reverend Wright and anyone who supports such mouth-pieces; call them out for their proliferation of ignorance and hate. [Glenn Beck calls these men, "Americas Yasser Arafats"]

So don't sulk over the election. Send on a Thank You card to the White House. You have been 'deputized'.
